Terms  & Conditions For Users

These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) govern the rental and use of vehicles provided by Rider’s Story Pvt. Ltd. (“Company”, “We”, “Us”). Any person who rents or drives a vehicle (“User”, “Customer”, “Renter”) agrees to be bound by this Agreement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

The driver of the vehicle shall be deemed to be the User. All transactions, communications, and obligations are strictly between the User and the Company.

A booking shall be deemed confirmed only after full payment is received. Payment of rental charges constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. Updated terms published on the website shall be binding.

2. Service Area & Booking Model

  • The Company currently operates only in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Gandhinagar (Gujarat).
  • Vehicles are provided only through offline/manual booking via Company representatives.
  • No online or app-based self-booking facility is available.

3. Eligibility & Documentation

To rent a vehicle, the User must:

  • Be minimum 18 years of age
  • Hold a valid Indian Driving License
  • Submit valid government-issued identification
  • 3- Aadhar card and DL to be produced before the company in digi locker at pickup. Failure to do so will void the booking.

Important:

  • Providing fake, forged, expired, or incomplete documents will result in immediate repossession of the vehicle without any refund.

4. Authorized Driver Only

  • The vehicle may be driven only by the person whose documents were submitted at the time of booking.
  • Allowing any unauthorized driver is strictly prohibited and may lead to termination of rental, penalties, and insurance invalidation.

5. Vehicle Usage Restrictions

The vehicle is strictly for personal and lawful use only. The following are prohibited:

  • Transporting liquor, narcotics, illegal substances, or contraband
  • Any criminal, unlawful, or commercial activity
  • Rash, negligent, or abusive driving Violation may lead to immediate termination without refund and legal action.

6. Prohibited Areas

Vehicles are strictly not permitted to be driven in:

  • Leh–Ladakh (Union Territory)
  • Lahaul–Spiti (Himachal Pradesh)
  • And area prescribed by the Company at the Time of Check-in

Driving in restricted areas will result in penalties and insurance becoming void.

7. Vehicle Condition & Inspection

  • Vehicles are handed over in good working condition, verified via pickup video/inspection.
  • The User must return the vehicle in the same condition, subject to normal wear and tear.
  • Any damage, interior soiling, or missing accessories will be chargeable.

8. Damage Responsibility

  • All damages occurring during the rental period shall be fully borne by the User.
  • Damages discovered up to 07 days after vehicle return (during inspection or servicing) shall also be chargeable.
  • The Company’s assessment of damage and repair cost shall be final.

9. Repair & Insurance Policy

  • Repair cost ≤ ₹50,000:
    → Entire amount payable by the User.
  • Repair cost > ₹50,000:
    → Insurance will be applied.
    → User must pay insurance deductibles, depreciation, and rental charges for garage days.

Insurance does not cover negligence, flood damage, drunk driving, or policy violations.

10. Monsoon & Flood Advisory

  • Users are strictly advised to avoid water-logged or flooded roads, especially during monsoon.
  • Any flood, hydrostatic lock, or water ingress damage shall be entirely the User’s liability, and insurance may not apply.

11. Accident Policy

All third-party damages, legal liabilities, injuries, or claims arising from an accident are the sole responsibility of the User.

In case of serious accidents, the User must:

  • Inform authorities
  • File FIR where required
  • Complete all legal and insurance formalities
  • The Company shall not manage legal proceedings on behalf of the User.

12. Speed Limit Policy

  • Maximum permitted speed: 100 km/hr
  • Monitoring applies:
  • 1st & 2nd violation: Warning
  • 3rd violation: ₹1,000 fine
  • Repeated violations may result in rental termination.

13. Daily Kilometer Limit

  • 300 km per day limit applies.
  • Extra kilometers will be charged as per applicable rates communicated at booking.

14. Fuel Policy

  • Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as provided.
  • Fuel shortage will be charged at prevailing rates.
  • No refund for excess fuel.

15. FASTag Policy

  • FASTag balance must be maintained at the same level as at pickup.
  • Toll charges incurred during the rental are borne by the User.
  • No refund for excess FASTag balance.

16. Booking Extension

  • Extension requests must be made minimum 48 hours in advance.
  • Extensions are subject to availability and approval.
  • Unauthorized extensions may lead to penalties or repossession.

17. Drop Location

  • Vehicle must be returned only at the agreed drop location.
  • Unauthorized change in drop point will attract additional charges.

18. Payment Terms

  • Full rental payment must be completed before trip start.
  • Any additional dues (damages, challans, fuel, extra kms, penalties) must be cleared immediately upon demand.

19. Traffic Fines & Challans

  • The User is fully responsible for traffic violations, parking fines, toll penalties, etc.
  • If paid by the Company, the User must reimburse the amount immediately.

20. Refund Policy

Rider’s Story Car Rental is not responsible for any losses or expenses related to third-party services or plans not associated with our rental services.

Refunds will be applicable in the following cases:

Customer Cancellation
  • Bookings cancelled more than 48 hours before pickup time are eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of pickup time will be charged 100% of the booking amount.
  • Monthly subscription bookings are non-cancellable.
  • Refunds, if applicable, will be processed to the original mode of payment within 7–9 working days.
  • Cancellation by Rider’s Story Car Rental
  • If we are unable to provide the vehicle due to reasons such as accident, damage, servicing, or delay from a previous customer, a full refund will be issued.
  • Refunds will be processed within 2-3 working days.

21. Reimbursement Policy

  • Minor repair expenses (up to INR 1,000) such as bulb replacement or coolant refilling may be reimbursed.
  • For expenses exceeding INR 1,000, prior approval from Rider’s Story Car Rental is mandatory.
  • Reimbursement requests must be supported by a printed receipt with the customer’s name and submitted at the time of vehicle return.
  • All reimbursement claims are subject to verification and approval by Rider’s Story Car Rental.
Late Return
  • Vehicles must be returned on time as per the booking schedule.
  • Late returns may result in additional charges as per the applicable rates.

22. Breakdown and Customer Responsibility

Rider’s Story Car Rental
  • In case of vehicle breakdown, the customer must inform Rider’s Story Car Rental immediately.
  • A replacement vehicle may be provided, subject to availability within a 50 km radius of the pickup location.
  • If a replacement is unavailable or the issue is caused by customer negligence or improper use, all towing, repair, and related costs will be borne by the customer.
  • Mechanical or electrical issues must be reported within 50 km of the rental start point to be considered valid. Issues reported later will be treated as customer misuse.
  • Rider’s Story Car Rental reserves the right to reject claims arising from customer negligence or misuse.

23. Legal Jurisdiction

  • This Agreement shall be governed by laws of India.
  • All disputes shall be subject to exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
